Burke Mountain, rich in cultural history, was originally inhabited by the Coast Salish. European Settlement started in the 1860s and by 1908, a small group of pioneers enjoyed the beauty and views of this spectacular environment. Named after Edmund Burke, a British author and statesman, Burke Mountain grew to become a location known for skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Today, while preserving it's natural beauty and environmental sensitivities, The City of Coquitlam and Wesbild have created a Master Planned, pedestrian friendly Community that will consist of more than 10,000 homes once completed. Residences will all be within walking distance of schools, parks, mature green space, and a series of creeks and trails throughout the mountain designed to truly embrace it‘s breath taking beauty. With a large selection of single family detached homes, townhomes, and Condominium developments there will be a home on the hill for everyone.
